What is a FabLab?

A FabLab is short for Fabrication Laboratory - small-scale workshop offering digital fabrication to anyone who needs access to advanced technology to be able to turn their ideas into new products or prototypes. The idea was conceived by Professor Neil Gershenfeld - director of MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms.

A Fab Labs are closely linked with the DIY movement, open-source hardware, maker culture, and the free and open-source movement. Nowadays there are 1750 Fab Labs across the globe in more than 100 countries. 

How can I become a member of the Fab Lab Dejvice?

You can become Fab Lab member by subscribing to one of our membership packages (Small, Medium Large).

How can I cancel membership?

You can cancel your membership via Fabman.io dashboard. Or by simply contacting us.

Which machines can I use in Fab Lab Dejvice?

You can find all the machines under Equipment section.

Is there any age limit to access Fab Lab Dejvice?

Age limit to operate certain machines is 18 years old due to safety reasons.

Does a member have to learn how to use the equipment?

Yes, members have to know how to operate the machines. In case you don't know how to work with a machine, we offer training courses for you to get familiar with it.

Do I have to bring material or can I buy it in the Fab Lab?

We do offer some materials for purchase in the Fab Lab. Mostly basic materials like wood and filaments.

When is it open?

We are mostly open from 8:00 to 2:00.

Can I book a machine for a specific time?

Yes, you can. Inside Fabman.io system, you are able to choose a machine and an hour to be reserved.
