The Maker Institute was established based on the interest of students and employees of the Dejvice Campus in cutting edge fabrication technologies.

These impulses led in a joint project under the umbrella of Campus Dejvice with Leyla Yunis as a Director and Dana Matějovská (Institute of Model Design, FA ČVUT) and Richard Nevšímal (Counselling and Career Centre, Department of Communication, VŠCHT) in the Board of Directors.

The Maker Institute is a nonprofit organization, functioning independently but working closely with the universities and other stakeholders.

The purpose of the institute is to offer an inspiring, vibrant and innovative environment – a true hot spot for makers, tinkerers and innovators of different backgrounds and skills.
